Kristina LoChiatto November, 15th, 2016 Term Paper Violence In America School Violence; Section 1: School violence is on a high rise and it is a terrible thought to process. School violence is happening all over the world each and everyday. School Violence includes violence between school students as well as physical attacks by students on school staff. School violence is happening more often than expected and there needs to be a stop to it. Heightened security and gun control will help greatly. Section 2: There are many steps to take when suffering from school violence in your school or in your schools area. According to data with actual school deaths there was a report ââ¬Å"from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, there were a total of 53 school-associated violent deaths in elementary and secondary schools in the United States. Of these 53 student, staff, and nonstudent school-associated violent deaths, there were 41 homicides, 11 suicides, and 1 legal intervention death.â⬠(nces.ed.gov) In the years of 2013ââ¬â14, about 58% of public schools reported one or more incidents of a physical attack or fight without a weapon. The amount of crimes occurring each year in schools has increased over time. There are many causes to the problem. I believe that school violence may be caused by children who grow up in an unstable family such as an abusive home, drug home and or even and alcoholic home.
